What is the difference between water absorbent and dehydrating agent
Source:FuJinFang.cn   Author:FuJinFang.cn

1、 Different properties

1. Dehydrating agent: can reduce the moisture in the material or remove the crystalline water from the compound molecules.

2. Water absorbent: a functional polymer material with particularly strong water absorption capacity.

2、 Different characteristics

1. Characteristics of Dehydrating Agent:

(1) Flocculation: Dehydrating agents cause suspended solids to undergo flocculation through neutralization and bridging adsorption.

(2) Adhesive properties: Dehydrating agents exert adhesive properties through mechanical, physical, and chemical interactions.

(3) Resistance reduction: Dehydrating agents can effectively reduce the frictional resistance of fluids, and adding trace amounts to water can reduce resistance by 50-80%.

(4) Thickening: Dehydrating agents can thicken under neutral and acidic conditions, and polyacrylamide with a pH value greater than 10 is easily hydrolyzed.

When the structure is semi reticular, thickening is more pronounced.

2. Characteristics of Water Absorbent:

(1) Non toxic, safe, environmentally friendly, non-toxic and odorless, pollution-free plants, soil and groundwater, fruit trees and flowers, greening, soilless cultivation, plant preservation and transportation, field crops, etc.

Soil water retaining agents and waterproof soil erosion agents ultimately decompose into carbon dioxide, water, ammonia nitrogen, and sodium or potassium ions without any residue.

(2) Water conservation can effectively suppress water evaporation and prevent soil erosion.

Even under irrigation conditions, more than 50% of water can be saved.

(3) Improve soil structure, improve clay heavy soil, leaked sandy soil, and secondary saline alkali soil, promote the development of soil microorganisms, and enhance the turnover and utilization efficiency of soil organic matter.
